Road-rage incident in Barrie

A Barrie police officer talks with a woman following a suspected road-rage incident which sent a man to hospital Thursday morning. Police say they received multiple calls at 8:45 a.m. about an altercation between two men who were arguing on Ferndale Drive South. Police believe one man became upset at the other motorist’s driving skills. The verbal altercation turned into a physical confrontation, resulting in one driver being transported to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre with undisclosed injuries. Police say they received multiple calls at 8:45 a.m. about an altercation between two men on Ferndale Drive South, Thursday morning.

Police say one man became upset at the other motorist whom he believed was driving too slowiy.

The angry driver followed the other gentleman into a parking lot and rear-ended his car.

The two men became involved in a verbal altercation outside their vehicles, which turned into a physical confrontation.

A 59-year-old driver was transported to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre with non-life threatening injuries.

A 54-year-old Barrie man has been charged with assault.
