Former NHL journeyman Mike Comrie has been accused of rape following a threesome gone offside.
The Los Angeles Police Department has confirmed the probe, the New York Daily News reports.
"There is an open investigation of sexual assault involving Mr. Comrie," LAPD Officer Liliana Preciado told the News.
Comrie - who did stints in Edmonton, Long Island, Ottawa, Philadelphia and Phoenix - was previously married to former child star Hilary Duff
According to TMZ.com, the 36-year-old is now under investigation following the incident at his Los Angeles home Saturday.
The website reports that an unidentified woman met the now-retired Comrie at a southern California bar.
Comrie and the woman then returned to his home where she accused the former Oiler of raping her “multiple times.”
Sources who know Comrie told TMZ that the woman - who the Edmonton native has allegedly known for a while - gave her full consent to sex. In addition, pals charge another woman was engaged in three-way sex with the duo.
She did not file a complaint and so far sources say Comrie has not spoken to LAPD detectives.
During his career, Comrie was better known for his five-year marriage to Duff, 29, than his hockey skills. The couple began dating in 2007 and got hitched in 2010.
The marriage imploded in 2015 and sources said the cause was Comrie’s hard-partying ways. They have a four-year-old son named Luca and reportedly remain friends.
According to the New York Post, the Comrie-Duff marriage was obliterated after the former jock had a drunken, wild night out in Beverly Hills and propositioned numerous women during the proceedings.
Duff booted him from the family home.
“I think that I was in a very successful marriage for a long time,” Duff told a podcast last fall. “We got together based on love and we separated in a very loving way. I can’t imagine going through that process with anyone but him, and he continues to be my very good friend.”
Duff added: “I think we handled it very consciously and with a lot of love. But marriage is sacred and marriage is not for everyone. Marriage is work. Marriage is really hard.”
One thing Comrie doesn’t have to worry about is money: his family sold their furniture empire for a whopping $700 million.
