Teenagers face numerous charges

NEW TECUMSETH – Two teens who fled at RIDE checkpoint at high speeds ended up stuck in a farm field early Saturday morning.

Nottawasaga OPP directed a vehicle to stop at 12:15 a.m. on Industrial Parkway in Alliston, but it fled the scene and was clocked at more than 100 kilometres an hour in a 60 km/h zone, police said.

It attempted to evade OPP, but became stuck in a field on the 12th line of New Tecumseth.

Two 16-year-old boys were arrested – one from Alliston, the other from Woodbridge.

They face charges of dangerous driving, flight from police, mischief and taking a vehicle without the owner's consent – along with several Highway Traffic Act charges for being unlicensed.
