Frigid temperatures and threats of snow squalls didn't deter people from embracing winter at Barrie's 2013 Winterfest and Festival of Ice.
The event took over the waterfront and featured numerous events, including rides, demonstrations, food, and the lumberjack show.
The Festival of Ice added to the atmosphere, featuring 300-pound blocks of ice into a variety of creations representing the festival's theme of classic games.
And on Sunday, some brave souls took an icy plunge into Kempenfelt Bay for the annual polar bear swim.
The February Blues Festival also provided entertainment at various venues throughout the city as the Barrie Film Festival, Barrie Public Library and the MacLaren Art Centre all contributed events and activities to the celebrations.
