Orillia woman escapes rollover with minor injuries
ORILLIA - A 57-year-old Orillia woman is back at home after being involved in a single-vehicle rollover that trapped her in her car Saturday evening.
The woman, who was traveling alone, was traveling north on Highway 11 when she veered off the road and flipped her silver sedan around 7 p.m.
"She hit the soft shoulder and started to flip," said Barrie OPP Const. Leslie Woodley, noting that witnesses reported seeing the vehicle over correcting while on the highway.
Skid marks could be seen on the highway running into the gravel shoulder where her car left the road.
The car landed upside down about 20 metres from the road.
It took firefighter about 15 minutes to extricate the woman, who remained conscious, from the car, after which she was taken to Orillia Soldiers' Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
Road conditions and alcohol are not believed to be factors in the accident.
