Local Physician Recognized by Ontario Ministry of Health and Long Term Care for Expertise in Concussion Care
Dr. Bauman states, “Concussions are complex brain injuries and providing care requires an individualized approach specific to each person’s symptoms. This type of rehabilitation requires expertise to treat both the medical issues as well as to help guide patients back to their sport or work environment.”
Concussion North has been open for 3 years and patients travel significant distances to see Dr. Bauman and her team of experts who have each spent years of training to help patients recover from the debilitating symptoms of concussion.
Despite the demands of a busy practice, Dr. Bauman has also presented cutting edge research focused on the differences between males and females and their recovery from concussions. This has led to multiple international speaking engagements along with volunteering her time as an expert advisor with The Ontario Minor Hockey Association, Parachute Canada, Canadian Concussion Collaborative, Ontario Neurotrauma Foundation, Simcoe District School Board, and Mom’s Team, a United States non-profit organization that advises both the NCAA and United States Department of Defense.
In short, Dr. Bauman’s dedication towards concussion prevention and management along with her globally recognized model of concussion care continues to attract attention from Health Care Organizations, physicians and patients seeking her medical expertise.
