In Stayner on Saturday Gas was .96 /litre. On Sunday, in Orillia, gas was .96/litre. Monday in Alliston it was .98/litre. This morning and for some time, gas in Barrie has been selling for 103.9/litre, the same as the GTA. The main factor in determining what gas companies charge for their product is “what they can get away with” and they have obviously colluded to take advantage of the good folks in Barrie. Well, I think that, to paraphrase the famous line from the movie NETWORK, “we should be mad as hell and not take it any more”. Lets just stop buying gas locally for a while and see what happens. If all of the commuters into and out of Barrie filled up before getting here or after leaving, we would send a clear message to the gas companies that they can not take us for granted. On top of that, it would not cost us any more and most would save money while standing up for our rights not to be gauged.
