Characteristics of both Eras can be found in the house and on the architecture outside. Being built on the cross section of Baker Street (now 9th Street East) and Murdoch Street (now 4th Ave East), the home has a ‘Turret’ room on the main floor and 2nd floor. This would have been expensive and harder to build at the time, yet very prominent being on a corner lot in the city. The home now has 6 bedrooms and 5 baths and has been turned into a Bed & Breakfast for tourists to enjoy. Three bedrooms are named after founding Doctors of Owen Sound... the ‘J. A. Hershey Turret Room’, the ‘G. R. Miller Room’ and the ‘Norman Bethune Room’. Original Hardwood Floors, Oak floor trim and thick doors with Crown and Cylinder Glass, are just part of the original heritage of this building. The home also shows two original fireplaces, two lead glass windows and pocket doors.
