(STAFF) -- The Barrie Baycats managed a split in their doubleheader with the London Majors at Labatt Park in London, yesterday afternoon.
Barrie won the opener, 8-4, but a last inning rally came up short in the second game, as they fell 6-5.
The Baycats took an early 4-0 lead after one inning in Game 1, and added another in the second, before the Majors rallied for four runs of their own.
Barrie added one more in the fourth and two in the seventh to secure the victory for Chris England.
In Game 2, the teams traded runs in the first inning before the Majors added a pair in the fourth to take their first lead of the afternoon.
Barrie got one back in the fifth inning, but London scored three in the sixth to stretch their lead to 6-2.
Barrie tried to rally in the top of the seventh, scoring three times on a three-run home run by Jonathan Baksh, but it was not to be as the Majors held on for the victory.
Jordan Lundberg also had a solo home run for the visitors.
The next action for the Baycats is tomorrow night when they host the Oshawa Dodgers at Barrie Metals Stadium. Game time is 7:30 p. m.
