Bradford woman facing 6 charges
BRADFORD – A local woman faces charges after three police officers were assaulted at an apartment and the station Wednesday night.
Just before 10 p.m., South Simcoe police were called after a neighbour heard a loud argument. Arriving officers heard a man and woman arguing, and a child crying.
When the two officer entered the apartment, police said, both were assaulted.
A 27-year-old Bradford woman was arrested and taken from the home, but at the police station a third officer was assaulted and a police cruiser door damaged.
Police say a man at the apartment was evasive with officers, not giving his correct name.
A check showed he was violating his bail conditions; when he was taken to the police station, a door in the cell area was damaged.
Police said marijuana was also seized at the apartment.
A woman was charged with three counts of assaulting police, assault with intent to resist arrest, drug possession and mischief under $5,000.
A 29-year-old Markham man was charged with obstructing police, two counts of breaching his bail conditions, drug possession and mischief under $5,000.
Both were held for bail hearings.
The child was not injured and was taken by other family.
The police officers did not require medical attention.
