The Twin Lakes Secondary School senior boys' soccer team dominated its rivals from Georgian Bay Secondary School of Midland Tuesday, earning a 5-1 triumph on home field in what was an impressive performance by the home side.

The T'birds defence did not allow a single dangerous scoring chance in the first half, controlled the play and had numerous scoring opportunities in the first-round playoff contest.

A late hand-ball infraction gave Twin Lakes a penalty kick, which it capitalized on, and the team took a 1-0 lead into halftime. The second half was more of the same as Twin Lakes, which finished atop the AA standings with a 2-1-3 record, exploded for four goals to secure the lopsided win.

The Midland team will take on Nottawasaga Pines Thursday. The winner of that game will play at Twin Lakes Oct. 17 at 2:30 p.m. in the Simcoe County Athletic Association championship game.
