NTR donation helps Barrie hospital

The owners of National Training Rinks on Big Bay Point Road in Barrie presented a cheque for $20,000 on Saturday to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre’s Hearts and Minds campaign, specifically to support the hospital’s child and youth mental-health program. From left are Wes Jarvis, Darlene Jarvis, Colleen Gartner, Mike Gartner, Eric Dean from the hospital, Nancy McCullough and Dave McCullough. The donation also marked NTR’s 20th anniversary. Construction is underway on the eight-bed unit, which is slated to open later this year, providing care for up to 300 young people. A day program will provide an additional 3,000 outpatient visits annually. KEVIN LAMB/PHOTO
