OSHAWA (STAFF) – Reid Saxby, head coach of the Georgian Grizzlies men’s volleyball team, was named Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) East Division coach of the year on Saturday as part of the OCAA all-star games hosted by Durham College in Oshawa.

Saxby guided the Grizzlies to a perfect 18-0 regular season, setting a school record for wins in one year.

Georgian made its first appearance in the OCAA provincial championship since 2014 and finished in fourth place.

In his two seasons at the helm of the Grizzlies, Saxby has compiled a regular-season record of 34-6, which is tied for second in the OCAA with a win percentage of .850 during that span.

With a large group of the core returning, Georgian is expecting to once again be a contender for an OCAA medal next season.
