Barrie bantams fall in bronze-medal game
AURORA (STAFF) – The Barrie Colts bantam 'AAA' team made it to the bronze-medal game at the Ontario Minor Hockey Association (OMHA) championship on the weekend at St. Andrews College.
Following a 4-2 win over the Central Ontario Wolves and a 5-3 loss to the York-Simcoe Express, the bantams followed up on Saturday with a 6-3 victory against the Oakville Rangers and a 7-4 defeat at the hands of the Niagara North Stars.
With a 2-2 record following the round-robin portion of the five-team tournament, the Colts earned a spot in the bronze-medal game.
On Sunday, the Colts fell 8-0 to Oakville for the bronze medal.
The York-Simcoe Express went on to win gold with a 4-2 triumph over the Niagara North Stars.
