Alliston Hornets get their opponent

 

(STAFF) – The Alliston Hornets will face the Mount Forest Patriots in the Provincial Junior Hockey League's North Conference final.

The Hornets, who swept the Stayner Siskins in the Carruthers Division final last week, will open their best-of-seven series against the Patriots on Wednesday night at the New Tecumseth Recreation Centre.

On Friday night, the Walkerton Hawks forced a Game 7 in their Pollock Division final with a 6-0 win over the Patriots in Mount Forest. The following night, the Patriots skated to a 4-1 victory in Walkerton to advance to the North Conference final.

Game 1 of the conference final is set for 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, followed by Game 2 on Friday at 8 p.m. in Mount Forest, with Game 3 on Sunday in Alliston and Game 4 next Tuesday in Mount Forest. If necessary, Game 5 is scheduled for Friday, March 31 in Alliston, Game 6 on Sunday, April 2 in Mount Forest and Game 7 on Monday, April 3 back in Alliston.

Hornets forward and Barrie native Drake Board leads the PJHL in playoff scoring with 36 points (16G, 20A) in 14 games, followed by teammate and former OHL Barrie Colt Stephen Nosad with 30 points (13G, 17A) in 14 games. Leading the Patriots in scoring is Ryley Cribbin with 21 points (9G, 12A) in 18 games.
