BRADFORD – A man faces a drug possession charge after being stopped by a RIDE patrol here Wednesday night, Nov. 30.

Just before 11 p.m., South Simcoe police checking a vehicle smelled alcohol on the driver's breath, along with the smell of marijuana from inside the vehicle.

A roadside screening test resulted in a passing grade, but a search of the vehicle found drugs, police said.

A 25-year-old Bradford man was arrested and charged with drug possession. He has a court date later this month.

South Simcoe police's Festive RIDE patrols began Nov. 30 and stopped 61 vehicles, with three roadside tests given and three passes. The patrols will continue into January.
