SPRINGWATER TWP. — The Canadian Pacific Railway Holiday Train made a stop in Springwater Township on Tuesday at Highway 26 and Anne Street North.

The Holiday Train collects food and money for both the Elmvale Food Bank and the Barrie Food Bank and raises awareness in the fight against hunger during its cross-country tour of music and holiday fun.

The Holiday Train, which features a box-car stage and a line-up of great musical talent, makes corporate contributions to food banks during its journey across Canada.

During its many, many stops, residents are encouraged to donate food and funds, all of which will stay in their local community.

The musical guests this year include Dallas Smith and The Odds.

Dallas Smith is a platinum selling country artist and has a number of JUNO and CCMA Award wins and nominations.

The Odds have also achieved platinum status, along with six JUNO nominations, as well as several top 10 hits.

Now entering its 18th season, the CP Holiday Train has raised more tan $12 million and 3.9 million pounds of food has been collected for local food banks thanks to generous community support.
