Barrie male charged with robbery
A teenager trying to buy contraband smokes had a knife pulled on him and was forced to the ground in a Barrie park Monday morning.
The 15-year-old was threatened with stabbing and his cellphone was also stolen, city police said.
At 7:10 a.m., police received a call from a citizen who was flagged down by the teen, who had just come from the Jessica Drive park.
He gave officers a description of the suspect, who was found a short distance away, on foot.
An 18-year-old Barrie male was arrested and charged with robbery.
Police also found some cocaine and charged him with drug possession. He was held for a bail hearing Tuesday.
The victim received no physical injuries.
