Barrie break-ins have similarities

Barrie police have seen a pattern in multiple residential break-ins.

On Tuesday, police were called to five residences about overnight break-ins in the area of Sovereigns Gate, Cedar Crescent and Parisian Court.

Police believe the residences were entered between midnight and 4 a.m. through unlocked sliding doors or kitchen windows. One home was entered through the garage.

Stolen were purses, wallets and cars keys – the latter to steal a 2007 Saturn Outlook SUV from a driveway.

Last month, police investigated similar break-ins in the Little Avenue/Yonge Street area.

Police believe some residents have video surveillance cameras which might assist in their investigation.

Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact police at 705-725-7025, ext. 2129 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or visit
