Barrie-Innisfil MP John Brassard has a new title in Ottawa this fall.
Brassard was one of several members of Parliament who took on a new role in the Shadow Cabinet on Sunday.
Brassard was named the Conservative’s critic for Veterans Affairs.
“I have profound respect for our veterans,” Brassard said in a press release Sunday afternoon. “There are thousands of active military families who call the Barrie-Innisfil area home and many thousands more who previously served our country with integrity and distinction.
“Our community also has a deep connection with CFB Borden and I look forward to working productively with stakeholders and veterans groups across Canada on behalf of our veterans.”
Rona Ambrose, leader of the Official Opposition party and Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, announced the new Shadow Cabinet due to the number of cabinet members who’ve stepped away from their roles to run in the Conservative party’s leadership race.
