Barrie police asking for public's help
City police are investigating two sexual gropings Tuesday in Barrie.
At 1:40 p.m. near Toronto and Sophia streets, a female was approached by a man who grabbed her and groped her in a sexual way as she passed on the sidewalk, police said.
He quickly fled on foot and arriving officers couldn't find him.
Just before 10 p.m., in the area of Browning Trail and Fox Run, a female was grabbed and groped before fleeing down the alleyway, police said.
Neither female was physically injured in these incidents, said police.
The male in the first incident is white, about 25 years old, weights 140 to 150 pounds, with a thin build and has black hair with receding hairline and a large forehead. He was last seen wearing khaki green hooded sweater, cargo pants and running shoes.
The male in the second incident is also white, stands 5'8” to 6' tall, has a thin build, a trimmed, full beard and short brown hair.
He was last seen wearing a ball cap, a short-sleeve shirt and running shoes.
Detectives are handling this as a parallel investigation. There are similarities in the description of the suspects and the events of the incidents, but it's still unclear if they are connected.
