Barrie police probing suspicious fire 0

Investigators with the Office of the Fire Marshal and Barrie police are probing a suspicious early-morning  fire.

Barrie firefighters and police responded to a fire in the garage and backyard area of a Parkside Drive residence around 3 a.m. Saturday.

The residents of two neighbouring homes were evacuated for a short period of time for safety reasons while the fire was brought under control.

No one was injured.

Members of the Barrie police's Criminal Division are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to contact Det.-Const. Derek Rose at 705-725-7025, ext. 2127.
