Urinating on the side of a police cruiser put a man behind bars early Sunday in Barrie.
City police officers approaching their parked vehicle on Dunlop Street just before 2:30 a.m. noticed the man, who was unsteady on his feet and used slurred speech while talking with police.
A 23-year-old Newmarket man was arrested and charged with being intoxicated in a public place and spent the night in police cells until sober.
TRUCK ATTACKED
A man locked himself inside a truck while a woman attacked it with a broom handle Saturday afternoon in Barrie.
City police received numerous calls to a Prince William Way home about a couple arguing at about 12:30 p.m.
A woman had chased a man down the driveway to a truck, where he locked himself inside. When a woman attacked the truck with a broom handle, the man ran back inside the home, police said.
She gave chase and kicked the door open to get inside, said police.
Police determined the argument was about a small child, and alcohol was also involved.
A 29-year-old Barrie woman was arrested and charged with mischief.
FUGITIVE ARRESTED
Returning to the scene resulted in a woman's arrest Friday on three charges.
On Feb. 14, Barrie city police investigated a female who had allegedly assaulted her partner, smashed a cellphone and threatened death. Before officers arrived the woman fled and could not be located.
An arrested warrant was issued for her – for assault, mischief, uttering threats and breaching her probation on another threatening charge.
On Friday at about 11:30 p.m., city officers on patrol spotted the woman's vehicle in the driveway of the same residence.
A woman was arrested for the outstanding charges and held for a bail hearing.
HOME-WRECKER
A man was arrested Sunday after several people were removed from a Barrie home where they didn't live.
City police were called to the Yonge Street residence at about 11:40 a.m. Officers removed those who had been using the house as a home while the owner was away.
But a 59-year-old man of no fixed address caused damage to the house.
He was arrested, charged with mischief and given a court date.
