Man pulls gun on store clerks

Barrie police are looking for a man wearing a mask who robbed a downtown Mac's store at gunpoint Sunday night.

Police say the man entered the store around 11:30 p.m. and pulled out a semi-automatic style pistol and ordered the two clerks to hand over cash. The clerks complied and the man left the store with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled in an older style black pickup truck.

Half of the suspect's face was covered by a Halloween-type mask. He is described as a white male, between 25 to 30 years of age with a medium to heavy build (with a belly). He stands about five-foot-seven to five-foot-eight, and wore a dark toque, dark jacket and black pants. He is believed to have two or three small scars on his right cheek.

The investigation continues.



 A man who was jumped for his cellphone Sunday night knew his attackers, police say.

According to Barrie police, the victim was walking in area of a south-end park around 10 p.m. when he was attacked by two other males, one of whom took his cellphone.

Police say the victim knew his attackers and were given information as to where find one of the suspects. They arrested the man for robbery and have issued a warrant for the second man.
