Barrie welcomed 2013 in style at the Downtown Countdown as thousands braved the cold and snow to ring in the new year outside City Hall.
The event featured two sets of fireworks, entertainment for the kids, plus performances by Barrie's own For the Birds, Toronto's Poor Young Things and Canadian rockers The Trews.
