Brunch takes place on New Year's Day

Barrie Mayor Jeff Lehman is kicking off 2013 with a second annual New Year’s Day Brunch & Levee to raise money for the United Way Greater Simcoe County.

The brunch and levee will be at the Rotunda at Barrie City Hall on Jan. 1.

Brunch will be served in two sittings, 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. and 12:45 p.m. to 2 p.m.

The levee is scheduled from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Some masterful Barrie culinarians are lending their talents to make up the colourful palate of tastes offered at this buffet.

Marco Ormonde from The North Restaurant, Yar and Nur Mohammad from Tara Authentic Indian Cuisine, Unity Market Cafe, Cheeky Treats, Lemon Tree Bakery, Catering by Rose and the Kiwanis Club of Barrie will all be adding to the menu.

There will be coffee and tea served at the levee, which will be free to the public.

Tickets for the brunch are $25 in advance, and drink tickets are $10 in advance. Tickets are available from Music Pro, 56 Barrie View Dr., and the MacLaren Art Centre, southeast corner of Mulcaster and Collier streets.
