A Hamilton, Ont., man has been charged after police seized more than 1,600 marijuana plants from a commercial agriculture building on Tuesday night.

Police said the plants have a street value of more than $1.5 million. The grow-op was found in a 33,000 sq.-ft. commercial building, and an adjacent building in Hamilton's East Mountain area appears to have been used for processing and packaging the drugs, police said.

The unidentified 31-year-old man is charged with cultivation of marijuana and possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000.
